Village 40 Phuket Old Town

This is one of the best places ever to stay in Phuket Old Town for art, architecture and design lovers: freshly renovated traditional mansion in one of the streets of the old town but in a quiet area, surrounded by art galleries and cafes, nice restaurants, boutique shops, major sights all nearby reachable with a short stroll. The room was architecturally very interesting, on two levels with a mezzanine, decorated with taste and pièces of antiques style, with a super brand new bathroom, fully equipped with everything you can think of including some food and drinks. Excellent Wi-Fi, AC and even fan. There is a nice common area around a little internal mini garden. The owner is a lovely young lady, an artist herself, the best host you can think of - she has excellent communication (WhatsApp), always available to help, recommend and assist, including tips for the famous Phuket Vegetarian Festival - one of the main religious processions passed just by the house, so I could watch it comfortably from ‘home’. She even drew by hand an amazing map with sights, restaurants and shops recommendations! You can also buy art and souvenirs in the shop downstairs, which also operates as a cafe (limited opening hours in the afternoon, it’s very quiet all day long). The best stay I had in Thailand so far on several travels, highly recommended! I will come back if visit Phuket old town again. Thank you so much Tanja for the excellent stay!

Nothing, all was excellent. Just please note that if you have huge luggage or cannot make stairs it could be an issue as it’s a traditional house with limited space and wooden steep stairs (all new/renovated and in itself definitely not a problem, but keep it in mind if you have mobility problems).

This is not a hotel as advertised. It is basically an air BnB. It is not suitable for older couples many stairs quite poorly lit with a spiral staircase and toilet on a different floor. Great for youngsters
