Hotel TOKI 季

Rooms are big and bright, with a nice view of the bridge/water. Breakfast is good, although could be better (limited selection of bread and european options).

Early check in was not allowed, and we travelled a very long distance with a baby :(

Amazing spacious room (especially for Tokyo!)! It was so hard to find hotels with rooms for families in Japan! Everything new, clean. The clothing washer (detergent and softener included!) with the incredible drying shower room was super handy! Just wash your clothes, put them in hangers inside the shower room and turn on the dryer overnight and the clothes will be dry by morning. Staff was very polite and always responded to my messages quickly. Also, there is a Seven Eleven super close to the hotel, which was very convenient. We loved the hotel!

It was our 1st trip to Japan and we chose Ueno due to its ease of access to/from the international airport (Narita) as well as to other places in Tokyo and even Kyoto. While this is true, it wasn’t the most beautiful area in Tokyo. This is the only thing slightly negative I have to say about this hotel. Other than that, it was great!

Location good, clean, good amenities.

Shower area had no door between the kitchen and rest of room. Just a foldable screen. Awkward when 5 people are staying. There is a front desk but you are basically on your own sending luggage to airport. It’s less stressful when the hotel front desk does it for you. The website for luggage was very confusing.

Hotel Toki was the perfect accommodation for a family of 6 by Tokyo standards. Everyone had a little space to themselves and the dining table was a good communal area. The bathrooms were spotless as well as the kitchen area and refrigerator. Our room was serviced twice and they even replaced our slippers. Air conditioning made it comfortable during June Japan weather. The washing machine was clutch! Though it was a much smaller capacity, we were able to do laundry to conserve on suitcase space. We dried everything in the tub/shower room that had a cool heating function. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and spoke English. They even assisted with forwarding our luggage to our next destination. It's close to multiple train station entrances and Ameyoko Market with a gazillion dining options was just across the street. There is a 7Eleven just a few feet away from the hotel lobby and we made frequent stops there in the morning/evening. There is an ATM in there as well if you need access. Overall, I would book at this location again if I were staying in Ueno.

The bathroom sink is spacious but left no room for us to set toiletries down. So instead, bc we didn't do any cooking, we set most of those items over in the kitchen. It was the counter space we needed. The elevator is also extremely tiny so for a party of 6 with luggage going up on the first day and coming down on the last day, we had to take two trips. We narrowly fit all of us in the elevator on a regular day, but it was fine.
