The staff is very kind and helpful. The place has a nice cute vibe and I really liked the outdoor seating and open area with plants.
I will suggest that bathrooms be cleaned more than once a day, because at night the whole floor is wet and the floor towels are dirty.

We had a truly wonderful stay and felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The hosts are warm, attentive, and always ready with helpful suggestions that make exploring the island even easier. Room 1 was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotless, with a large bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen that had everything we needed during our stay.
The cleanliness was exceptional — the hostel is cleaned every day, often several times a day, which kept the whole place feeling fresh and well maintained throughout our visit.
Breakfast in the garden was another highlight. The space is peaceful and full of character, with plenty of greenery, the old windmill, and even a few friendly chickens walking around the garden, adding a charming and authentic touch to the atmosphere. The location is perfect too: quiet and relaxing, yet just a short walk from the centre of St. Julian’s.
Everything came together to create a fantastic holiday, and we’re already looking forward to returning.

I stayed in four other hostels during my trip to Malta, and Windmill Hostel was easily the best out of all of them. The place has this really warm, home‑like vibe that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in.
The common areas are big and full of natural light, and the rooms have their own AC remotes so you can heat or cool the room whenever you want — no strange limits or rules. There’s also a super comfy lounge with a huge 70" TV, perfect for relaxing in the evenings.
The whole property is kept very clean — the staff clean frequently throughout the day, so everything always feels fresh and well looked after. The kitchen is fully equipped too, which makes cooking really easy if you want to save money or just enjoy a proper meal.
One of my favourite things is how green the place is. There’s a garden, plus a really nice patio with comfy seating and tables under a roof. It’s a great spot to chill, read, or have a coffee. The area around the hostel is calm, and the sea is only about a 10‑minute walk away.
For the price, the quality you get is honestly amazing. After trying several hostels around Malta, Windmill Hostel is the one I’d recommend the most if you want a relaxed, friendly, and affordable place to stay.
