Blue Waves Resort is part of the Privy Stays Group of Hotels, Resorts & Villas in Alibaug. It is located in a remote place called Burum Khan, which is a Small Village Hamlet off the main Alibaug-Rewas Road in Varasoli. Google Maps does not guide you properly once you turn in from the Main Alibaug-Rewas Road, so you need to check with the Property and turn Right just after the Ganesh Mandir, even though Google Maps asks you to go straight. Fortunately, there are Sign Posters, so watch out for them to guide you correctly. After the turn in, the Village Hamlet road is very narrow and the last 200 meters or so is very rough, so you need to be careful while driving. But once you reach the Resort, you will find it to be Very Beautiful with Very Good Landscaping and plenty of Greenery & Plants all over, making it look Really Pretty. It has just 8 Rooms – 2 Very Small Rooms with entry from the Reception & no view and 6 Pool Facing Rooms with a nice little sit-out area with Outdoor Tables & Chairs as well, which is very nice. They have a Small, but Clean & Well Maintained Swimming Pool, with a Separate Kids Pool as well. Even the Pool Facing Rooms are a bit small, but well furnished with an Internet TV, Split AC, Queen Sized Beds with Side Tables, Comfortable Mattresses & Pillows, Good Quality Duvets & Bath Towels, Electric Kettle with Supplies, Wardrobe, Dressing Mirror, Small Bathroom with a Geyser for Hot Water and Good Toiletries as well, making it a Cozy Room for a Couple to stay at. They however do not have a Restaurant, but have only a Dining Area on the 1st Floor, which also has a Kitchen and a Staff Room for the Night Staff to stay. Being Off Peak Season when we visited, they did not have a Cook, but just a “Maushi” who prepares food for the Staff and so we did not prefer to eat there. Since the Maushi comes in only after 9 am, even if you ask her for a Simple Breakfast of either Poha or Upma with Tea/Coffee, she needs to prepare it from scratch, so the earliest she can serve it will be after 9.30 am. This was too late for us, so we preferred to have even our Breakfast outside. You however need to drive for minimum 3-4 kms to get to any good Restaurant as the location is far from the Main Alibaug Market, so you have to have your own Vehicle if you decide to stay here.
We however enjoyed our stay at this Cute Little Resort which is Clean, Comfortable and Very Well Maintained with plenty of Greenery and a Great Ambience too. The Staff are also well trained and helpful, making you feel Very Welcome. In the night however, the Main Entry Gate is not Fully Closed and there is only 1 Boy who sleeps in the Staff Room on the 1st Floor and on his off day there is no one in the Property in the night, which could be an issue in case of any Emergency, particularly in the Lean Season when there are no other Guests in the Resort. Also, all the Lights of the Entrance Area, Reception, Large Lawn, Swimming Pool, Verandas, etc are left on the entire night and are switched off only after 9 am when the day staff arrive, which is such a Criminal Waste of Electricity. Despite bringing this to the attention of their Senior Management, no action was taken. Also, the Resort Wi-Fi was suddenly disconnected due to failure to recharge it on time and it took an entire day with regular follow-up and escalating it to their Senior Management to get it restored, which was quite inconvenient, as being a Remote Area, Mobile Network is quite patchy, so the Resort Wi-Fi is something that you rely on as it works very well.
Overall, a Good Place to stay at and Well Recommended too.
