For providing water bottles and tea coffee maker items, I ranged to reception and I was directed to call room service. I got reply ( not in a courteous tone) from room service that it's not their duty. So again I had to contact reception. Then only it was provided, as if the staff occupying the reception counter had no idea about to whom each duties are entrusted.

The property is well-maintained, centrally located, and truly worth every penny. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and all the facilities promised at the time of booking were fully provided.

⚠️ Fraud Alert – Beware of Cab Scam via Hotel Vijay
After booking a room at Hotel Vijay, the hotel staff offered to arrange a cab for our trip from Madurai to Rameshwaram for ₹2500. Trusting the hotel, we booked the cab through them.
During the journey, the driver stopped midway and falsely claimed the main road was blocked and said we must take a longer route (47 km extra). He demanded ₹600 extra, otherwise he threatened to leave us in the middle of the road where no other transport was available.
Later we found that the actual extra distance was only around 20-22 km, and even toll charges were saved, so there was no real justification for extra money. Since I was travelling with my family, I had no option but to pay after arguments.
This clearly looks like a planned scam between the hotel staff and the cab driver, targeting tourists from other states.
⚠️ My suggestion:
Please avoid booking rooms or cabs through Hotel Vijay. Be careful, as they may mislead guests and force extra charges during the trip.
