Sunday Cottage

Location great.

Great location.. Close to village centre and also Cape Cornwall for the walk and the views. Comfortable beds and an excellent TV in main bedroom. A toilet on each floor is a bonus as we were 2 couples as opposed to a family so we designated a bathroom to each couple.

Have to say we found the cottage itself and it's facilities and utensils lacking in basic cleanliness. The waste bin in kitchen had a threadbare, shredded bin liner and unfortunately had not been emptied prior to our check in. Neither bathroom had a pedal bin although the owner did provide 2 new bins as soon as we advised them of this. There were no tea towels in the kitchen but again the owner did rectify this once we highlighted it. The kitchen utensils were adequate but the pots and pans badly need replacing as they look filthy. They are simply unusable unfortunately. The ground floor shower tray very quickly fills up and is a very slow drain so I wouldn't advise a long leisurely shower in that one (the upstairs shower is fantastic in fairness). We had to park at the nearby free car park at the bus station as there is simply no space on the road outside the property and there are a lot of double yellow lines around the area . At no point prior to arrival were we informed that the garden was shared with the owner of the adjacent property and the back door offers zero privacy as there are no blinds or curtains to draw if garden is in use. The settee is a tight squeeze for 4 adults in all honesty. This property could be a 10 out of 10 with a little more TLC and a more thorough cleaning team. I hate being negative or critical as I know owners of weekly changeover properties have time constraints between guest A checking out and guest B checking in, but I hope this review is taken as constructive as opposed to hyper critical and helps potential guests and indeed the owner be aware of one or two issues that we personally found.

The front door and porch need painting and cleaning. The stairs need painting or cleaning Off cuts of kitchen work top and paint tin in porch, Where lights have been taken out of ceiling, no over painting.judt general finish needs looking at. Sun beds outside broken, towels that were on Sun beds smelt musty so did cloth in kitchen. No coffee table or side table in lounge. With a bit more thought and care it could be a nice cottage.
