I need to be straightforward. This is a bedroom in someone's apartment. You have exclusive use of a nice bathroom, but it is NOT connected to your bedroom. To travel to the bathroom, you would have to walk past the kitchen and other guest bedrooms. If that is what you are expecting and accepting, this property is very comfortable. You are sharing the kitchen and living space with other people. If you accept all these facts, the room itself is very large, with nice windows, a comfortable bed and space to hang your clothes. We had a shelf in the fridge in the kitchen assigned to us, and the kitchen itself was fully equipped. The location was wonderful, just a couple blocks from Tivoli Gardens, the train station, the city hall plaza, the subway, buses, etc. We were able to walk to most of the attractions. There is a Netto grocery store about 2 blocks away. We rode the bus straight from the airport, as the bus goes right down this street. You can get off at the stop before the river,which makes it a 3 block walk to the apartment, or at the stop at the city hall which is about 6 blocks past the apartment.

Because it is a private apartment, there are some challenges with the property that you need to accept. There is no lock on your bedroom door. You cannot lock the door when you go to sleep or when you go out for the day. There is a lock on the private bathroom from the inside. When we arrived at 9pm, the instructions said to ring the bell on the "left side." But is that the left side of the door? The left side of the buttons on the right? Which button? There was no visible button that said "TopCity." This caused a bit of distress after a day of travel as we were standing on the street corner in the dark with no idea how to find our lodging and the doorway itself was dark and kind of sketchy looking. In the end, if you look very closely with a flashlight you will see a very, very faint faded marker writing that said Top City. Once we pushed that, our host came down and ushered us to the apartment. The next instruction was to leave our shoes near the door and not wear them into the living area. Again, if that's your thing, no problem. It was a little alarming to see how many pairs of shoes were in the hallway, and we wondered how many people were also here. At this point, we were unaware that this was a spare room rather than our own apartment. The host himself was very nice. We encountered the permanent roommate a couple of times and were aware of one other guest occupying a separate bedroom. That bedroom did not have access to our own "exclusive use" bathroom.
