I stayed in the compact single windowless room for a week as a solo traveller and was admittedly a little nervous before arriving. I was visiting Stockholm during an incredibly busy week (including the Bad Bunny concerts), when accommodation prices were sky high, and I was able to get a really good rate, which made this a great option. I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. The room is tiny, and I do mean tiny, but it served exactly the purpose I needed it to. If you're looking for somewhere to sleep while spending your days exploring Stockholm, I think it's a great option. The location is absolutely top tier. You're right in the middle of Gamla Stan, within walking distance of pretty much everything. I walked everywhere during my stay, including Södermalm and the city centre, and the ferry is right nearby. There are countless cafés, wine bars and restaurants on your doorstep, plus a Co-op just around the corner for anything you might need. Before arriving, I had contacted Bob W with a few questions and was initially speaking with the AI chat service. I know that might put some people off, but my experience was really positive. It's very easy to request to speak with a real person when needed, and everyone I spoke with was incredibly helpful and communicative. I requested a fan before arriving, which was organised very quickly for me. The communication throughout my stay was excellent, and checking in was also incredibly straightforward. Accessing both the building and my room was simple and seamless. The room itself was small but surprisingly functional. I ended up moving a few things around to give myself a little more space, and I was pleasantly surprised to find hanging space for clothes. There are also irons available to use upstairs, which came in very handy when getting ready for a wedding during my stay. The bathroom is also very compact, and I do wish the bathroom door opened fully (the bed prevents it from doing so), but it was perfectly manageable. As someone with long hair, I was expecting to make an absolute mess every time I showered, but I was pleasantly surprised by how functional it was. I know the windowless room won't be for everyone, but I actually didn't mind it. During the Swedish summer, when the sun doesn't set until very late, it was helpful for sleeping. The room has a framed light feature on the wall that mimics a window, which some of my friends thought was a little strange, but I actually quite liked it. The only downside was waking up with absolutely no sense of time. When it's pitch black, it's surprisingly difficult to get your bearings in the morning! I could occasionally hear other guests in the building, but nothing that bothered me. I was also provided with a fan for the room, which I'd recommend requesting ahead of time during the warmer months, just to have the option. A week was probably a little too long for me personally, and I ended up booking a larger hotel room for my final night simply because I needed the extra space to pack and decompress before flying home. If I had been staying for two or three nights, or if I was spending very little time in the room, I don't think I would have felt that way at all. If you're planning on working remotely, I would suggest making use of the cafés nearby rather than working from the room itself. There are communal spaces available, although I didn't end up using them, and there are so many lovely places to work or sit by the water just minutes away. This isn't somewhere I'd book expecting a luxury hotel experience or a room you'll want to spend all day in. It's somewhere I'd book because it's exceptionally well located, thoughtfully designed and offers great value if you can get a good rate. For solo travellers especially, I'd happily recommend it.
