Dhunhill Garden

We had a great time. The host is energetic and took us in ☺️🥹 He offered some Sri Lankan food to try. The pool is nice. There were some games available to play too !!

P.S. The ants are still there, but it wasn't much of an inconvience.

Badgeruch recht muffig, Gastgeber vermietet den Badebereich draußen und den Essensbereich extern. Dadurch teilweise deutlich mehr Menschen auf dem Gelände und keine ruhige Atmosphäre mehr. Einmal wurden wir gefragt, ein anderes Mal gab es eine Firmenfeier über den Tag hinweg. Vielleicht normal für Sri Lanka, aber für uns überraschend.

Our stay at Dhunhill Garden was absolutely fantastic. The garden is beautiful and full of different fruit trees including bananas, pomelo, coffee beans, cashew nuts, and much more. We even got to pick and taste fresh pomelo straight from the tree, which was a very special experience. The accommodation is lovely and surrounded by nature. There is also a natural pool with an incredible view over the landscape, the perfect place to relax. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast was also very good, and the chicken we had was actually the best chicken I’ve ever eaten. We arrived by tuk-tuk, and the last part up to the accommodation is quite a steep hill. But if you go slowly in first gear, it’s no problem to get up. We can truly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a peaceful and beautiful environment close to nature.

Nothing really, just no AC in the room. But it has a fan which works really well for us.

This is a truly beautiful place, surrounded by nature. I loved watching the birds and monkeys right from the property. The little pool is spectacular and perfect for relaxing. The house is located on a steep hill, so be prepared for it — but it’s absolutely worth the effort. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful. It was clear that he genuinely wanted me to enjoy my stay as much as possible. The breakfasts and dinners he prepared and brought were delicious, generous, and reasonably priced. The hike to the hill above the house is stunning, with breathtaking views — you can even see Adam’s Peak from there.
