Renovated 1930's home

Great location. Very well equipped.

It was perfect for our short stay

Spacious and comfortably appointed. Kitchen with everything you need, including coffee pod machine. Open fire with good supply of wood. Views towards Mount Wellington. TV with steaming access. Good wifi. Nice welcome gift and some interesting gin tasting. Generally clean (aside from a couple of large cobwebs). Great location within walking distance to Salamanca Markets, and downtown Hobart. Supermarket and food options close by. Parking on site a bonus. Good pre-arrival communication with host. We'd give an 8.5 rating (but can't go mid-rating on Booking.com).

A series of little niggles to note - didn't change our overall experience. As some others have noted, there is a high degree of road noise with single glazed windows, on a busy road. Access via the rear stairs, even though there is a photo of the front of the property used on Booking.com. Late winter stay, and was generally a cold property (even wth the fire roaring). There was only one electric heater (looks like an old heater discarded in the garden, so maybe there used to be at least two?). And not helped by bathroom window left open on a cold, windy day adding to the low temperature on arrival. Other properties we stayed at in Tasmania, we were greeted with heaters or fires already on, and immediate warmth (commensurate with the price paid per night). To note, bathroom is a wet room with no shower screen. Parking is convenient, but it is extra tight with the neighbours temporary carport taking up some of the available space. Whilst good communication from the host, there was also an extensive list of 'house rules', including directions of which heaters not to turn on, and advising of in-property noise monitoring. Niggles as we note, but the reason why we have rated the property lower than other stays in Tasmania.

Very comfortable bed and couch, very clean, everything you need and great communication and care.

Would have been lovely if the fire place was set ready to light. Also the shower does get the bathroom quite wet.
