Papa's Garden - Homestay Hà Giang

La mejor estadía que tuve en Vietnam. No tengo palabras para describir lo bien que me atendieron los dueños del establecimiento. Sentirme en casa es poco decir, gente de gran corazón, generosa a más no poder y muy atentos. La habitación tenía todo lo necesario y el emplazamiento en medio de la naturaleza y al lado del río es muy bello.

I spent just one night at Papa's Garden Homestay after completing the Ha Giang Loop, but it was more than enough time to leave a lasting impression on me. The property is set in lovely surroundings, and the accommodation is comfortable and welcoming. But what truly sets this place apart is the extraordinary warmth, kindness and genuine hospitality of the couple who run it. When I asked about use the bike to explore the surrounding area, my host offered to go cycling with him and he introduced me to the local ethnic minority villages. It was a wonderfully eye-opening experience and a glimpse into local life that I might otherwise have missed. I was incredibly grateful that he took the time to share it with me. That evening, I was treated to an absolutely sumptuous meal, followed by an equally delicious breakfast the next morning. The food was fantastic, but the company was even better! Despite the language barrier, we managed to have the most wonderful conversations using Google Translate. There was plenty of laughter, genuine curiosity and a lovely sense of connection that transcended language. It was one of those beautiful reminders that you don't need to speak the same language to feel completely at home with someone. I may have stayed for only one night, but I left feeling as though I had made new friends. Thank you both for your kindness, generosity and genuine interest in your guests. Papa's Garden is a lovely place to stay, but it is the people who make it truly special. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would happily return in a heartbeat!

What an awesome charming place to stay, Bao, Lan and their family were so welcoming,we had a real Vietnamese home experience. Highly recommend! The highlight was a shared family meal with Bao, his sister and wife Lan. Google translate was our friend but it didn't detract from the genuine warmth and curiosity we shared. The food was AMAZING.and it was great to be shown how to eat, what to dip where, and enjoy the slow food culture that is Vietnamese dining. Our room was clean and comfortable too.

The only slight downside is location, they are a long way from the hub of Ha Giang so dinner with the family was perfect as it would have been tricky to get into town. Although Bao was very generous with driving us around.

I feel lucky to have found Papa’s Garden! The family is incredibly welcoming and has created a beautiful, peaceful retreat in a lovely village that is still convenient Hà Giang. The rooms are charming— clean, comfortable, and modern—with great air conditioning, private bathroom, TV, and everything you need to relax. There are also bikes available to borrow and a laundry machine on site. The property is surrounded by nature, with a truly impressive garden and teeming fish pond, and the meals were all wonderful. I was even invited cycling and to the local market, which made the stay feel really special. You can also book great driven tours of the region. Everyone in the family was so kind and helpful, and all the personal touches made me feel truly at home. Papa’s Garden really is the perfect getaway whether you stay just a few days or even longer. I hope to visit again someday and would recommend it to anyone!
