Cleaning issues made for a disappointing stay

The location of the house is great - right by a Premier shop, really handy for any groceries. The bus stop for the bus that takes you into town is 2 minute walk away and runs twice an hour. The garden is large and enclosed. The fridge freezer is large, and works well. The driveway is also very wide and easy to access. Accessing the key safe was easy and check in and out instructions were clear and easy to follow. As soon as I informed the owner of our issues the cleaner came to the house a few hours later to bring towels for all of us, new tea towels and fill the hand soap and other bathroom products. He also brought a box of Celebrations by way of apology, and apologised sincerely.

When we arrived the house was not cleaned well - the kitchen sink, the bathroom basin & tap, the bath, and the mirrors were dirty. The sofa had peanuts and crumbs on it. The tea towel and the drying mat were crusty and stained. One of the table mats was covered in something brown. There was no soap in the bathroom dispenser. There was one hand towel for a party of 6, and there wasn't even a bath towel each. The grass hadn't been cut for a very long time which made it very wet to walk on with our dogs. All the wheelie bins were overflowing and smelly - they hadn't been emptied in some time. I have no idea if this was a blip in their usual service but it was not a great experience for my family and I.

Ideal accommodation for contractors working away in Banbury, well presented in good location and contained everything needed. Would book again when next working in the area!
