Very clean, furniture in good condition. The bathroom did get dirty during my stay, but that was the fault of guests, as I saw staff cleaning it regularly. I like that you get a full size lockable wardrobe for your things (many hostels only provide a locker). I didn't stay long enough to use the kitchen or laundry but they are very practical. Beautiful garden. Location is wonderful.
I stayed during the heatwave. This is to be expected from budget travel, but the room had no air con and was unbearably hot. I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue for most of the year! I would have appreciated a little more information on checking in (e.g. where the kitchen and laundry are, when the bar opens, is breakfast available & when). Very minor issues.

SUPERB location. Fantastic reception and common areas and story with the abbey
Upper bunk beds feel so high up and hard to get into. No plug points with the beds themselves. You need to use these hard to reach plug points on the sides.
