About this apartment rental
Every effort has been made to preserve the building’s original features while incorporating contemporary design trends, blending an industrial aesthetic with classic furnishings and all modern amenities (Wi-Fi, air conditioning, smart TV, etc.).
The space
This late 19th-century building was designed by architect Fernando de Yarza on commission from the Marquis of Ayerbe; it is listed as a site of “Architectural Interest” and also as an “Aragonese Cultural Heritage Site.”
On the first floor is the “Pasaje de la Industria y el Comercio,” popularly known in Zaragoza as the “Pasaje del Ciclón” because of a huge toy store that operated there for over 100 years. The arcade itself is also listed separately from the building as a Site of Aragonese Cultural Heritage. The arcade is one of only three of this style still standing in Spain.
Both the building and the arcade were constructed with an elegant French flair, modeled after the shopping arcades of the time (1880) in other European cities, particularly Paris
The building has served as a film set for movies such as “Carreteras Secundarias,” "Que se mueran los feos," and "El hombre que quiso ser Segundo," as well as a television documentary series. The owners’ connection to the property dates back to the time the building was constructed, and in fact, they still live in the house today with their children, just as the six previous generations of their family did, so they are proud to now be able to share it with discerning guests who can appreciate the blend of tradition and modernity they have sought to infuse into the apartments.
