Wheatsheaf Flat

There was tea, coffee, milk supplied. Also supplied detergent for dish washer & washing machine. Very quiet as the pub is only open weekends. Plenty of gels and soap in bathroom. A lovely place to stay, highly recommended.

Lovely apartment with all you need and more, it suited our family perfectly.

The pub underneath unfortunately was open only Friday to Sunday and it doesn’t serve food anymore. Also the agency managing the place does not respond to booking messages, but you need to call or email them at their own address

We have friends who moved from Manchester to Abbeytown a good few months ago, friends who’s home we used to visit to watch big football matches, big boxing matches etc. We’ve often spoke about visiting them for future events, not just sport, but just to see them for a catchup, good few drinks, a takeaway, then maybe one of us sleep on the couch, and the other 2 of us on blow up beds on the floor, which wouldn’t be ideal, because it’s not a very big room, although we’d be very grateful. Then one of the boy’s discovered the Wheatsheaf, the pub has an apartment above it, and what a fantastic place to stay, very spacious, very clean, beautiful big kitchen with big dining table, beautiful big living room, i think the only room to not have a tv is the bathroom, as soon as you walk in, there’s information on local takeaway’s that deliver, there’s a local shop a stone’s throw away with everything you need, but the apartment has stuff to help you on your way, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, toilet roll, plenty of fresh towels. The pub itself is a nice place for a drink, and it has a fantastic pool table with a decent cloth and balls, there’s a couple of cue’s there that are better than our own, plus it’s only 50p a game. This place is a little Gem for us, we spent a fantastic night in there, we’ll definitely be staying again in the near future, we highly recommend it!!!!!

Honestly the Host went above and beyond to be welcoming, extremely responsive and super friendly. The extra amenities in the flat were a God send, and made it feel like home. You had everything you could ask for and more, and the beds were beyond comfortable. If you need to wash or dry clothes you can, and the host provides wash pods, the shower room had the option of bath or shower and shower gels and wash stuff are provided. The kitchen is packed with applicances as well as your oven and hob, you have a dishwasher, air fryer, even a coffee machine!! The living room is spacious and perfect for families of all sizes. You are located above the Inn and we went for lunch the next day, it was delicious, the staff were lovely. If you are looking for somewhere that genuinely feels like a home from home, please stop by here. I cannot recommend this place enough, not only will we be returning, we will be recommending this flat to anyone travelling and needing an overnight stay/breakfast. (Unfortunately I only have photos of the food from the Inn, I was too busy enjoying the place 🤣)
