Villa Despoina Serenity

From the moment we met Emily, Kostas and Kris, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. They are such warm, friendly hosts, and it was clear from the very beginning that they genuinely wanted us to have the best possible holiday. On arriving at the villa, we were completely blown away. The setting is simply spectacular, with breathtaking panoramic views that are even more stunning in person than in the photographs. The pictures really don’t do this beautiful villa justice. Inside, the villa is spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a true home-from-home stay. We were greeted with a wonderful welcome hamper filled with delicious goodies and treats, which was such a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated. The facilities throughout the villa are excellent. The kitchen has everything you could need, the air conditioning worked perfectly during our stay, and having a washing machine and tumble dryer in the basement was incredibly useful, particularly for a longer stay. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and every bedroom is equipped with a smart TV, providing plenty of entertainment for relaxing evenings. The outdoor space is just as impressive as the villa itself. There are plenty of comfortable sun loungers, bean bags, outdoor seating and a dining table, making it easy to relax or dine while taking in the incredible views. The lovely swimming pool was maintained daily by Kostas and was always spotless. We also loved the fresh herbs growing in the garden for guests to use, and the excellent gas barbecue with a separate gas hob made outdoor cooking a real pleasure. During our stay we celebrated a birthday, and Emily, Kostas and Kris went above and beyond by surprising us with a thoughtful gift, which was a completely unexpected and much-appreciated gesture.

Internet could be a little hit and miss, but this is Crete in general.
