Lake Dora Escape: Canal Access & Seaplane Sights!

The view was awesome! Loved the kitchen & bath, beds were comfy and loved the size and layout of the greatroom. There were a couple of small issues & our call to the host was answered timely and a family member came to address needs/concerns to the best of their ability. I feel like the "What didn't you like" sounds like we were totally unhappy - not true - and I would love to return with family for an extended stay sometime. I think the Lake Dora Escape would be a perfect place for an annual trip with friends or family.

There were a couple of areas that need attention for cleaning - the space behind the washer & dryer did not look like it had been cleaned in sometime. The screened in patio was a great place to watch the water and the skies. However, it needed cleaning - scrub the floor and sides below the screens were dirty. The screens could have stood a cleaning simply by spraying a hose over them. Neither of these had any negative effect on our stay. I suggested the host add some informational pages to the "what to know" sheets they had by adding some food take out suggestions, list with addresses of the closest grocery stores and maybe some of the locals favorite places - locals always know the best over the tourist hype places. We did find a couple of good eats. I know many of these things are on the internet - to me its an appreciated extra from the host. Had a bit of a struggle with lack of mirrors - above bathroom sink & one on a bedroom floor was not really adequate - could have used more. One member of our group was concerned about the "musty odor" being a symptom of mold. I believe it was related to being on a lake in Florida with rain, heat & humidity. What airfresheners were present were totally used up. Maybe a good airing between visitors might also help. With all the above comments I would recommend Lake Dora Escape. And say thank you to the host for having a great place to stay.

The place was really nice and spacious and had a beautiful view of the lake and a really nice screened in porch that our cat totally enjoyed. Very pretty property! The beds were very comfortable and over all we enjoyed our stay.

I did not like that there was no outlet in the bathroom and the sinks did not drain properly. Also the shower curtain was way too small in width to cover the really nice shower so it was hard not to keep the water from getting all over the floors.

The view of the sun coming up was incredible! It was very peaceful, the wildlife that was at the end of the dock was icing on the cake.

The wifi seemed to come and go. It was only an issue when trying to coordinate important transactions. The air vent to one of the bathrooms was somewhat annoying as it would blow cool air onto the bed and when closed the vent would whistle.
