The location was ideal. Beautiful views of the fields. Great for dog walking and ideal if you want to be away from the main town of Deal but still in a village environment. Solleys is just down the road, so it's a good choice if friends are camping but you'd rather have a comfortable bed. It has two shower rooms which is fab if sharing with a friend. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It's a beautiful cosy cottage. Lovely decor and furnishings and a great location for walkers or those looking to relax. The garden has a patio and then a grassy area which was approx 80ft long way. We tended to sit in the grassy area as the patio area seemed to get buffered by the wind while we were staying there. Likely as no hedgerow. Lots of games were provided and a nice welcome pack of 2 tea bags and local granola / buttermilk crispbreads.
The following were just a few thoughts / experiences while staying. If these were actioned it would be 10/10. If you are agile and don't go to the loo at night then the following comment won't be so much of an issue! I hadn't read anything that indicated the toilets were off the kitchen on the ground floor. I'm not so good with stairs so I found it tiring walking down to the toilet multiple times in the night (sadly 4 times a night). If I stayed again I'd probably set up the bed settee in the lounge just to avoid this issue. If you are unsteady on your legs then the stairs and bottom step may be a little bit too much for you. The pink room was a lovely size and comfortable. The cottage may get more family bookings if the double bed was changed to a convertible double / unzipped to two singles. I think having a picket fence around the patio area would have made us feel safer - especially if you bring a dog or have young children. We had taken my mum's dog who is very obedient, but I didn't notice he was no longer in the garden with me and my friend initially - and found he had wandered off to say hello to a man walking his dog in the road. So after that we decided to keep him on the lead everytime we were in the garden. The other reason was because the mirror privacy glass on the bathroom windows only works in the day time. In the night time you can see right into the shower room if the shower room light is on. There were no blinds to add a bit of night time privacy. I doubt anyone would wander into the garden at night - but without a fence and gate it just felt a little bit open. Hunting for the dog bowls, dog blanket, iron was a bit like a treasure hunt looking in various cupboards. We found everything - but had to look in all the cupboards to do so. I think there was too much crockery and saucepans leaving no cupboard space for any of our shopping. I think there were 5 or 6 frying pans in various states of condition.
