The Nest at Riverside Cottage

It is a very minor thing but the bathroom, though excellent, was about 20m away across the lawn.

Jo and her family were very welcoming and friendly and wonderful with my son! We both feeding the friendly animals and the location was beautiful, very relaxing and it was such a relief to be staying in a shady riverside spot during such a hot summer. There are lovely streams trickling around the property, with woodland walks available practically from the doorstep. Lovely wildlife, and we loved the family dogs too! The Nest was cosy and comfortable, with access to a warm bathroom with shower close by, and a beautiful summer house for games and general relaxing. There was an outdoor gas BBQ with hob, fire pit and fun outdoor seating. Lots to keep children entertained and adults relaxed! We had everything we needed and more. A perfect weekend away from the hot city. Thank you Jo for going above and beyond, to welcome my son and me, and give us a wonderful stay.

Beautiful peaceful location. Great for me to have some quiet restful time. Lots more than just the little cabin. Seating area by a river and a lovely warm bathroom to use.

We had an amazing couple of days based at the nest, which stayed lovely and cool despite the crazy hot weather as it is under the boughs of a tree. The peacefulness of being in a valley next to a stream surrounded by nature was perfect. We heard and saw a family of tawny owls! Jo and Mark were so welcoming and on hand if we needed anything at all, and being greeted by their dogs was an absolute treat. Despite being on the same lawn as the main house/annex it still felt private enough and I'd recommend to anyone! Lots of places to explore within a 15–30-minute drive, and a seldom used public footpath gave us a fun walk through the surrounding fields.

If you are very very tall and like to stretch out in bed you not be able to? That's the worst possibility I can think of! No flaws! The road in is single track and a little bumpy but very manageable and definitely worth it for the haven at the end, we saw a deer and a fox on two separate drives in!
