Sandy Bay Apartment in Both Worlds, for over 50s, Gibraltar

A great location with the beach on the doorstep, very quiet and a superb panoramic sea view. Perfect for relaxing. The apartment was spotlessly clean and benefitted from the added benefit of a very comfortable bed. One of the best hosts I have come across. Very communicative and helpful.

I am loathe to criticise as most things were extremely good. Notable features were the facilities in the apartment. The shower did not stay up and so had to be used as a hand shower and the kitchen needed some work as a door was loose and the drawers were ill fitting. The towels provided could have been better quality. However, these were cosmetic in nature and did not detract from what was a very enjoyable short stay.

This is a very nice apartment in an awesome location. Hearing the waves and nothing else during day and night made it easy to relax. The bay is absolutely beautiful. Loved watching the sunrise from the balcony or dinner table with the most terrific view. Gibraltar in itself is totally worth visiting. Loved our stay there.

Be aware that there is no overnight parking within walking distance. If you depend on your car for your visit you are in trouble. We parked in Spain, walked across the border and took the bus to the apartment, which was ok for us. Getting around Gibraltar by bus is easy, but you need a certain degree of mobility. Parking seems to be a general issue in Gibraltar.

Peaceful and beautiful, overlooking the clean sandy beach, easy to get a bus to town and back.

Kitchen a little small but fine, rest of the block felt empty and dated, but really not a problem.

The positives are the location, so close to the beach was calming. The wifi and TV were great to have. The bedroom was probably the best part of the apartment it was airy and comfortable. It was a functional apartment

The apartment is dated. The kitchen is not quite like the photo and there are condiments in the cupboards may have been there for 12 months or more. It is very small, I’m not sure how hygienic it was but I managed. There is no equipment for sweeping up the sand that blows in. The balcony whilst functional is not terribly clean. The lounge double glazing has blown so it looks like they are wet and smeary. Finally, it’s quite a way out of town and although there is a bus service it stops at nine, so going out is either a non starter or a taxi fare. For £1600 I could have better off in a hotel.
