X Lodge

Nice staff, clean, comfy sociable lounge, good location for buses to the mountain and restaurants. Old style ski lodge which is a pretty cool building. Hot powerful shower. Stayed end of Feb and didn't see any stink bugs at all during our stay.

Beds were soft and could feel the springs. We were given the room right next to the dining table so were awake if guests were in the lounge at night and again in the morning when staff started making breakfast. Lots of light and drafts in the room from the large windows as the curtains didn't fit properly.

Nice location with a good breakfast. The other guests are friendly and it is easy to get around to other areas of the town that you would want to travel to. Overall, a great spot with good value.

The rooms were a bit old, but not lacking in any way. It was a classic old-timey ski lodge, which I think added to the charm. Some people might feel otherwise. However, the two twin beds we got we're completely adjoined, so it wasn't really like having too separate beds.

Great staff. Clean. Close to amenities.

Could have a washing machine and dryer for guests. Jam for breakfast and all day coffee would be a bonus.

X lodge was in a location that was walkable to restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the Hakuba valley shuttle bus stop. The staff members were really nice and they were always around if we had any questions or needed help. Having a hot breakfast in the morning was nice before hitting the slopes. X lodge also had small lockers for passports. Nice, clean common area with toasty fire at night. Updated private bathroom and decent sized room.

Our room had many large stinkbugs throughout our stay. Apparently it’s a common occurrence in Hakuba in older properties, and they even had a sign posted in the reception that we’d probably see some. We did indeed see loads of them(dead and alive) in our private room throughout our 4 night stay, including just after checking in. I really hope they put effort into fixing this problem because otherwise it’s a great property. They also never cleaned our room though our our entire stay. I’m writing this to let others know what to expect, because the property never mentioned it before arrival. Take it as you will. Another thing that was disappointing was that they advertised a hot tub that didn’t work (freezing cold icy water). The hot tub is one of the main reasons I booked this place over others.
