Riverview - Private Hot Tub - Sleeps 12

We had a wonderful five-night stay here, and after exploring quite a lot of The Sea Ranch during our trip, we honestly think this house has one of the best locations in the area. The setting is incredibly quiet and private. There was virtually no traffic noise, no disturbance from neighbors, and most of the time all we could hear was nature. The house is surrounded by beautiful forest views, with a glimpse of the ocean as well, which creates a very peaceful atmosphere. We were just two people, so we definitely had much more space than we needed. The primary bedroom and bathroom, an additional half bath, kitchen, dining and living areas are all upstairs, while the other bedrooms and laundry area are downstairs. We spent almost all of our time on the second floor. It is bright, sunny throughout the day, very comfortable, and has beautiful views from several directions. The kitchen is especially spacious and extremely well equipped. There are more than enough dishes, glasses, wine glasses, cookware, baking dishes and utensils even for a large group. The house was also well stocked with everyday necessities. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided, as well as dishwashing supplies, and there were laundry pods available too. We stayed for five nights and never needed to do laundry, but it was nice to have everything there if needed. The hot tub was fantastic and worked perfectly. The house also stayed comfortably warm during the cool coastal evenings. The heater did such a good job that we never even needed to use the fireplaces. Another thing we really loved was how much there is to explore nearby. There are short trails around the house that are perfect for a quiet evening or sunset walk, while longer trails, beaches, forests and many beautiful parts of The Sea Ranch are only a short drive away. We explored a large part of The Sea Ranch both by car and on foot, and the more we saw, the more we appreciated the location of this particular house.

One thing worth mentioning for guests who, like us, prefer to walk barefoot or in socks indoors: the floors and carpets are not quite at the level of cleanliness you might expect for barefoot living. We always bring a cordless vacuum when renting houses because we know many vacation homes are used by guests who wear outdoor shoes inside. When we arrived, we vacuumed the main areas ourselves and picked up quite a bit of sand and pet hair, and our socks confirmed that the floors could have used a more thorough cleaning. We were prepared for this, took care of it ourselves right away, and it did not negatively affect our stay. But it is something barefoot guests may want to keep in mind. I would also recommend reading the checkout instructions before your final morning, as there are quite a few things guests are expected to take care of before leaving. This includes gathering and taking out the trash and making sure all dishes are washed, along with the other departure steps listed in the house instructions. None of this was difficult, but there were more checkout tasks than we are used to seeing at many vacation rentals, especially considering that a separate cleaning fee is charged.
