About this house rental

Located in the thriving coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea, Seawood House is a beautiful double-fronted detached character property boasting wonderful far reaching views to the iconic pinewoods at Wells beach, with the sea visible from the upper floors. With lots of room for all the family, this hideaway also features a basement games room and a chill out zone.

Extended and totally refurbished in 2024/25 Seawood House now presents as a super smart, contemporary residence with an easy living vibe. Set over four floors, the house happily accommodates eight people, and will appeal to all manner of holidaymakers - families, especially those who like to appreciate their own space, couples or friends looking for a fabulous holiday house in a superb location. As you enter the house from the side entrance door, you immediately appreciate you've come to stay somewhere that's rather special. On the ground floor, there is a newly spacious L-shaped bright and airy kitchen/dining room. Both the well equipped modern fitted kitchen and the adjoining dining room benefit from their own set of bi-fold doors to open up the house to the enclosed courtyard garden on warm sunny days and evenings. After feasting on some fine local fayre, you can retire to a sophisticatedly relaxing sitting room with large sofas to sink into, set around a wood burning stove and a large wall-mounted Smart television. From the dining room, steps (mind your head!) lead down to a great basement conversion, with a relaxed seating area with a second television, softly lit by natural light from the light wells at the front of the house. Adjoining this room is a games room with a ping pong table; sure to keep all ages entertained. Up the stairs on the first floor are three inviting bedrooms (two king-size and a twin), and two shower rooms, one of which is en-suite. The pièce de résistance is the striking top floor master bedroom suite that enjoys the best view in the house, looking across to the coast.

Step outside the front door and you are only a few minutes' walk from the centre of this ever popular seaside town, with its bustling quayside, independent shops, cafes and gastro pubs. There is something here for everyone, at any time of year and whatever your age. Once you've discovered this super house, we feel sure you will want to return again and again.

We booked this place because of its location , number of bedrooms, and a King Size bed and acceptance of dogs. All of which we got and were happy with. However, the TV Room being in the basement and only having seating for 3 and a Pouffe meant we could not all sit together to watch the football unless we used our beach chairs. It was also difficult for my Father in law to get down there, ( to be fair that was a bonus lol) it would be good to have a TV upstairs in the small living room as well. There was not enough hanging space in the first floor bedrooms, a wardrobe would be good even if just in the Master. Also to get to the fourth bedroom you have to go through the first floor bathroom, so if your in the bath you might get an unexpected visitor as there is no lock to the door leading to the second floor bathroom. All that said we still had a great holiday, fantastic area for dogs. only a 10 minute stroll gets you to a path that leads to the Pinewoods (about a mile) , which provides great shade for the dogs in the hot weather we had. lots of places to eat and drink without using the car. No parking at he property but the car park is only 5 mins up the road and £28 for the week was reasonable especially as you can park in any of their car-parks for free during your visit.

lovely family home, ideal for families. Very clean, good beds, well organised kitchen with a large fridge. Convenient to have use of washer drier. Nice little courtyard garden, (though could do with more seating out there). We’d definitely recommend it to our friends and consider staying again.

Great house in a perfect location. Beautiful decor and very comfortable house. It would have been good to know that the top bedroom could only be accessed through the bathroom and none of the lounges were really big enough for everyone to sit in at once but the rooms were lovely. Parking tricky especially as there were traffic lights outside the house. Saying that we would definitely stay there again, we had a lovely stay.

This is a great place for families, with good space, well equipped, the bonus of table tennis and an excellent location. Some doorways are low, so it requires expert ducking! Nearby crabbing, beaches, wild walks and a stately home for rowing and tea are a bonus!
