Pippins

The property was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Furnishings are excellent quality. The kitchen is high quality and had everything we needed. There was a slight doggy smell when we got there but it soon wore off. We don’t have pets so it was probably more noticeable. The beds were comfortable. The use of space was very well planned. I would say it would have been a bit tight for more than two people as there was only one sofa and a dining area.

The property itself was perfect for us. We didn’t realise it was so far from Ambleside. However we were able to get around easily enough to visit NT places. The bus stopping on the corner was a bonus as it allowed us to leave the car to visit Coniston and other areas.

The facilities were new and good quality. Nice layout within the property. It had all the essentials needed for a week stay within the kitchen and good TV/internet.

Did not have an Iron.

Such a lovely cottage, compact but well thought out and had everything you needed (except for a corkscrew!).

Only thing missing is washing machine and space to dry clothes which may be an issue for a longer stay. The log burner was a welcome addition as the underfloor heating didn’t seem to take the room temp above 18 degrees. It was very cold and snowing when we were there so the log burner helped to dry out our very wet kit in the absence of radiators and a dryer.
