Dusk House

The property was very authentic old quarter great location and value for money. The ally and staircase to the apartment was cool, but beware if you have trouble with narrow stairs. The living space was small but cosy and with the three rooms there was enough space for our family of 6 adults. Daff was excellent keeping in contact and ensuring our stay in Hanoi was great.

Something to be aware of is the street noise, being in Hanoi around Tet was vey busy and you can hear the traffic in the apartment, this is all part of the old quarter vibe.

The location of the property is just too good - located right at the heart of Old Quarters, so one could walk to the main shopping /walking area of Old quarters in 2-3 minutes. As a result, lots of good eateries are very close by/ right in front of/next to the apartment/ within max 2 mins of walk. The main attractions are all within walking distance. The hosts are great- very responsive and helpful. They even arranged a complementary birthday cake for us and did some decorations with balloons as we were celebrating a birthday and got us some tea packets as gifts the day we were leaving. They made a WhatsApp group with us ahead of the trip and gave us every single detailed we needed ( even recommendations for other cities we were going to !) The flat is nicely decorated too.

We were two families with kids, for a group this size , the space may seem a little small, especially if it’s a longer stay. The bedroom upstairs has an attached bathroom, but the one downstairs does not have an attached bathroom ( it’s attached to the seating area ) and is quite small - but given the rate they charge despite the location, can’t complain. The downstairs bedroom size is good and has an attached balcony. Given it’s in a busy area , there would be some noise from the road at night., but again that’s because of the very central location The apartment doesn’t have a lift - it’s a narrow staircase so pulling heavy suitcases up/ down can be a problem, however if you inform them in advance, they arrange for help to pull suitcases up and down ( that’s what we did so not a problem you need to face if you tell them in advance )

We absolutely loved the location and the vibe - it was so authentically Hanoi. The view from the balcony was incredible; we could actually see the city skyline, unlike other hotels that only showed us rooftops. Daff and her team were extremely helpful, especially Calla, who was always kind and attentive. We would love to return again in the future.

The alley leading to the house is a bit narrow, but that’s typical of the Old Quarter’s architecture. The host set up lights in there so it is not a big problem for us :)
