    A truly wonderful place in the heart of Naxos Old Town. Rich in history, the building dates back to the 15th century and originally served as a school until around the Second World War. It has since been beautifully transformed into a unique space that blends contemporary art, history, and exceptional dining at Avaton, all complemented by fantastic views. Much of the building’s historical character has been carefully preserved, giving it a distinctive charm and authenticity. During our stay, we visited both the archaeological museum and the contemporary art museum. Simply wandering around the compound reveals many hidden gems, including boutique stores, galleries, and other fascinating museums. Andreas was a wonderful host. His bubbly and cheerful personality made us feel instantly welcome, and his passion for the history of the building was truly infectious and impressive. The amenities were excellent, with a washer and a well stocked kitchenette and every detail contributed to a memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Naxos. Can’t wait to see the further changes which Andreas and his wonderful team will do to transform into an even more amazing place. Just sharing some photos along with the beautiful sunset :)

    I don't think you could find accommodation with more history & beauty than Katharsis! You're staying in the ancient part of the old town, up in the castle area! So beautifully modernised but keeping special ancient touches like original stone archways, high ceilings & beams! Super comfortable 4 poster bed! Host is so kind, helpful & passionate about this place & his family's connections, he is truly the best host! His knowledge of the property's history was really interesting. Bonus - the rooftop terrace for guests gives panoramic views of the famous Portara, church belltowers, white washed houses on the hills all around, ferries coming and going, etc! We recommend it 100%!
