Georgia Mare

I had a 3 night stay at the lovely Georgia Mare hotel in Naxos in July 2026. I wanted to right this review to help other travellers. I chose the hotel after a lot of research of hotels in the area, and decided to book due to the positive reviews regarding the staff and location. The hotel absolutely exceeded the reviews and my expectations. I want to thank the owners, Spiros and his lovely wife for such a lovely stay in Naxos and at Georgia Mare. Spiros and his wife were so kind, warm, always happy to help, smiling ALL the time, genuinely nice people and you could tell they take a lot of pride in hospitality, and their lovely hotel. Spiros helped me via email prior to my stay in explaining how best to get to the hotel from the port, offering a taxi to be arranged if i wished. I chose to walk which was only a 10/15 minutes and on a straight road down from the port/town. Once I arrived Spiros helped me with my bags to my room, and his wife offered me some complimentary local liquor they make in Naxos which tasted great! He then took some time explaining all the best recommendations from other travellers which really helped me knowing where best to eat/drink/beaches/getting around the island. He’d hand written this all on a map which I used throughout my stay (and have kept as so many places I didn’t get to try out!) I had lovely sea views from my balcony. The room was very clean, had all amenities including fridge, kettle, tea,coffee, water in my fridge, tooth paste/brush, shower gel/shampoo, soap and shoe polish! The rooms were cleaned everyday and presented amazingly with all folded sheets/towels, and towels changed daily too. The bed was large and very comfortable, air con was very good. The location in Naxos is amazing, 10 mins to the town if that. A few steps to a really lovely/long beach. Great for me as a solo female traveller. Breakfast daily which included a variety of continental and cooked foods (homemade and delicious). They even offered me an earlier breakfast on my last day due to an early flight which was so kind of them. I can’t tell you enough how highly i’d recommend this hotel, the owners really set it aside from a normal hotel and they are just the nicest people, great hospitality and made my stay extremely comfortable and felt very safe there knowing I could ask them or call them at any time of day/night. They even offered me beach umbrellas which was lovely. I would really recommend you try Georgia mare, you really won’t regret it. I really hope to return soon, I loved my stay and time in Naxos.
