Chalet Arnica

Nice, quiet location-away from the busier areas in Morzine which is both good and bad-good because it’s quieter and your car/bike feels like it’s in a safer place off the beaten track, bad because it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants in Morzine. If you are returning from mountain biking, if you’re on an ebike it’s fine (as long as you save battery), otherwise returning to the chalet is up quite a steep climb. Hosts were perfectly hospitable-left me to my own devices but always said hello/bonjour in passing, apartment was fine-comfortable and clean.

A couple of very minor things: - There was a cupboard on the landing next to my apartment’s front door which I think was blocking the sensor on the light on the landing-so it wasn’t very easy to get in at night as the light switches off quickly and if you were exiting the apartment, to lock the door behind you at night wasn’t as easy as it might have been, because the light doesn’t come on. - No measuring jug (for doing some cooking-took a slow cooker with me)

The apartment was very clean, we were able to check in early. Joseph and Bernadette were very friendly and helpful.

Bedding and towels was €40 for three flat sheets, 3 disposable pillow cases and a disposable fitted sheet for the sofa bed. There was not cover in the duvet and the bed was very firm so we used a sleeping bag to make it more comfortable. Check out by 9am when you are expected to deep clean was a little stressful.

Great views and outside terrace. Host was a nice lady

It’s very dated and there was an unpleasant smell which wouldn’t go away. Not sure if it was due to the age of the building and furniture was old or the cleaning chemicals but the smell was very musty
