The breakfast was Chinese and different. People should be informed about this ahead of time. I had no problem, but my wife did not partake of it. The bathroom is not really private as one has to walk into the common living room to access it. For people who want total privacy, this is not the best. The bedroom was superb and the shades were remote controlled.
The breakfast was Ok but should have been advertised as a Chinese breakfast. Chinese people will love to stay there.

The location was perfect for us. When I made the booking I thought we'd have our own place so at first I was taken by surprise. I guess because it said in a smart home I started thinking about what is a smart home and somehow missed the point that this would be a room in someone's home. But even though we're in our sixties and haven't lived with room-mates in a very long time, we adapted to it quickly because our host and daughter were so friendly. The bed is comfortable. Our host went out of her way to help us park in the garage.
I was uncomfortable with the fact that our booking had to remain secretive. We were asked to pretend we were not paying guests in front of the neighbours and to keep the blinds lowered, which was unfortunate because the pictures show lovely windows with nice greenery outside. But it appears that this is a common practice in Markham and Richmond Hill. We just weren't aware that these booking sites now include these and feel that fellow travelers should know ahead of time in case you are also not comfortable with clandestine arrangements.
