Casa la Fenice

Massimiliano is a wonderful host, caring and helpful. His breakfast is delicious, and the coffee is excellent. The room is just a few steps from the city center, restaurants, bars, and Palermo's historical sites. I highly recommend this host.

Maximo was a very generous host. We communicated via Google Translate and he provided all I asked for. The washing machine worked well; the hot water was hot; the air-conditioner was effective; the fridge was cold. The bed was solid (how I like it!), and the toilet paper was of exceptionally good quality.

The were no fly-screens in the windows. Consequently, my choice was to open the windows and let mosquitoes and other insects in (which bit me), or go without fresh air. I chose the latter which made life a little more uncomfortable after the 2nd day. The shower was so small I couldn't turn in it easily. Also, there was a little mould at the bottom of the shower. The noise in the street was dreadful. Noisy vehicles and scooters whizzing by, and ambulance sirens throughout the day. This was because the location was across the road from a few hospitals. Also, the neighbour above scraped furniture across their floor during the night and in the early morning hours, disturbing me from sleep. Breakfast was a croissant and a coffee. Because I like to have a big breakfast, I bought my own fruit, cereal, milk and orange juice to supplement my needs.
