Studio was comfortable, clean, close to the beach and main tourist street (5 mins walk). I felt safe in the property and surrounding area as a solo female. Host and property manager were friendly, helpful and communicative. Studio has gas stove, fridge, basic cooking utensils, wifi as described.
Guests should be aware there is quite a lot of noise from surrounding area - e.g. neighbours gathering outside, dogs barking, cars passing, quad-bikes from a rental business directly opposite with loud engines starting each morning. This was not a big problem for me, but might bother people sensitive to noise. The water supply in the area is not consistent and was typically available in mornings and evenings, so it is necessary to use water stored in other containers when running water is off. Lots of containers were provided in the apartment for this purpose. Hot water is available in the shower, with very low pressure.

Very cozy, spacious, safe, local feel and well-located studio. Bars, restaurants, shops are within walking distance and the beaches aren't far either. It's less noisy and cheaper than accommodations in the busy front streets of Santa Maria. The host is super accommodating and helpful.
Locals might be a bit loud at nighttime but that's a general risk in Santa Maria. Be prepared to endure power outs and a shower which isn't always strong enough due to governmental water cuts as well during the dry season. That will be the case in all the area. I still recommend this studio highly.
