Balsam Lake - 2-Bedroom Cottage #6

Great location….. great property

The location is really nice with a view of Balsam Lake and evening sunsets from the cottage. The cottage had enough modern appliances and a decently appointed kitchen (cutlery, dishes, pots and pans). The ad said linens and towels were included and this was true for the bed linens, but there was only one bath towel per person and no hand towels for the bathroom or kitchen, although a roll of paper towels, a J cloth and a sponge and dish soap were provided. A blanket was provided for each room for chilly nights, but it was soiled. The couches are comfy but also in need of cleaning.

The cottage is old and full of antique charm but it's a bit rundown. The bathroom could use an upgrade, especially the shower and the sink (still has separate taps for hot and cold water, which is original and certainly charmingly antique, but not convenient and definitely does not reflect the price point). There was also a mouse problem, droppings in the kitchen cabinets and on the dishes and plates, and we had to discard our loaf of bread that was sitting on the countertop that our uninvited guest helped him/herself to.
