Upper Boathouse on Balsam Lake #1

It doesn't get any more lakefront than this, the balcony/deck is right on the lake, you have an unobstructed view. It was great to have a grill for BBQs, the kitchen is well stock with essentials, lots of sofas, and quite spacious.

There were no chairs on the deck, so we had to take the dining chairs in and out, those are not comfy enough to sit down and relax looking at the sunset. Also there was no fire pit around, it seems to me there's only one for all the cabins, I'm not sure, but we decided not to have a fire. The beds were not comfortable for 2 people; luckily we had 3 sofas to choose from. The place had some cobwebs on the lamps and we couldn't get the TV to work. Not a big issue but FYI.

There wasn't any breakfast offered, more pots and pans and dishware required if more guests are present in the cottage. No towels, dish cloths, face cloths and towels were offered ! Had we have known prior we could have brought some with us. We liked the bedding, EG: mattress, pillows. Liked the view of the lake. Liked the ample space throughout the cottage . Liked the newer drapes as well as the newer stove and fridge.

There wasn't any communication what so ever with the resort owners; they would not reply to my 3 phone calls and 2 emails prior to arriving at the cottage. We also used the tel # that they offered to contact them. There wasn't any resort office on site. There wasn't any proper table, umbrella or chairs offered for use on the deck of the 'upper boat house' that overlooks the lake' where we stayed for 4 nights. The bathroom is quite small, not adequate for a larger individual . The TV shown in the pictures, on line does not work; others apparently have similar problems, one cottage renter had a TV with a huge hole in the screen. Showing TV 's in your ads is very misleading; if they are there they should 'all' work. One should know; there isn't any hand towels, wash clothe, dishtowels, bath towels etc offered; you will have to bring your own. The cottage ads should make this clear. More dishware and pots and pans are required; if you have sleeping quarters for 6 or 7 than the utensils and kitchen utensils should be offered and adequate for all that rent this unit.
