2-bedroom Lake Front Cottage in Harwood ON #5

La struttura non è ben pulita. Il personale non c’è. Il check in è self service. C’è una mail per chiedere informazioni, ma non rispondono: nei giorni precedenti alla visita ho chiesto via email, in inglese, diverse informazioni. Non mi hanno mai risposto. Il Wi-Fi non funzionava.

Peaceful and tucked away right on the lake, with convenient access to groceries and a short drive to Cobourg Beach or Peterborough. The property is spacious, clean, and well-equipped with amenities (TV, Wi-Fi, fireplace, barbecue, etc.).

It would be even nicer with a few added touches, such as extra toilet paper and a hairdryer in the bathroom, and some basic cooking essentials like salt, sugar, and cooking oil.

The cottage was right on Rice Lake. You take 20 steps of the large rear deck and you’re in the lake! Beautiful views but the geese make it difficult to enjoy it at times. The cottage is a good size with room for a family and your fur babies. The extra large deck facing the lake is fantastic and the hanging egg shaped wicker chair is absolutely amazing! You can enjoy the sun rise or sun set in comfort and the sliding patio doors from the one bedroom to the deck make it an added bonus if you want to climb outta bed and sit and watch the sun come up! The property and the cottages are in a wonderful spot and the upgrades that the owners have done from the original condition they were in make it worth staying here! I would recommend bringing cleaning supplies with you and extra toilet paper, towels and garbage bags since they only leave minimal. I suggest the owners bring in someone who knows how to clean the cottages properly and care for the outside property and surrounding areas in a timely manner instead of waiting until the last minute and then half assing the job! If I owned this property I would take pride in it!

Cottage was not very clean. I had to go through and clean especially the bathroom before we could use it! There was hair globs in the shower drain and build up of grime and urine around the toilet and the toilet seat. The sink in the bathroom had grime build up around the taps and drain. All the corners and trim were dirty and dusty and the shower head is so far up that you can’t reach it to adjust it! The stove is a little bit iffy due to burners that take time to heat up and the oven takes forever to get up to temperature and even when it says it is your food takes much longer to cook. What’s interesting about that is the stove looks like new! The BBQ on the deck wouldn’t light with the push button ignition switch and I had to go buy a lighter as we are a non smoking family so we didn’t have one! There were no BBQ utensils and I had to buy my own so that I didn’t wreck the plastic kitchen utensils that were supplied and then be billed for damages. The inside of the bbq kept catching fire in the bottom from build up and required me standing watch so my food didn’t burn. The curtains on the patio doors don’t cover the doors completely as they only have 3 curtains and really should have had 4-5 for the width of the doors. I have stayed here 3 times in the last few months and the grass was over a foot high when I stayed the first time and it wasn’t until this most recent stay that it was finally cut! Well, sort of! I was to the point that I went to my storage unit to see if my grass trimmer was accessible and I was going to cut it myself! I have dogs and I was very worried about ticks. There are cats that roam free at all times and they drag food out of the garbage bin up the way and keep leaving bones laying around and I have to watch the ground when I walk the dogs so that they don’t get a bone. The couch would be great if not for the leather being torn apart up the middle of the seat cushions.
