Vila do Maio

A small 2 floor self contained town house in a small complex next to the pool. The kitchen has everything a family would need. Washing machine located outside to the rear in a utility locker. Lounge area has a dining table and large sofa which over looks the patio area with table and chairs for outside socialising. Excellent WiFi. A pool with lots of sun beds. A bathroom and 2 bedrooms upstairs. All with clean bedding and towels. I had no problem getting a taxi from the airport to the accommodation at 8pm at a cost of €25. A returned journey also cost the same. The complex is at the top area of a hill and older people may find the walk a little strenuous. A super Dino market 300 m away and a marina at the bottom of the hill with restaurants and bars.

On booking.com instructions I was suppose to be met at the property by the owner. I waited approx 1 hour and then as I had no sim managed to get a resident to call the number and I was informed there is a small key safe on the wall and was given the code. This could have been prevented if the code was passed over a few days earlier via an email or the booking app. Walls are thin and noise from the houses next door can be heard.

We’ve stayed there before. Everything you need, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee makers etc. Everything easily walkable. Next to sports centre and pool. Owner let us have late checkout for our evening flight which was very kind.

Couple of niggles- no welcome pack not even a bottle of water and the safe was unavailable. However these were very minor issues which didn’t spoil our stay.

De locatie dichtbij een supermarkt, een haven met restaurants maar toch rustig en een zwembad!

De staat van dingen; lekkende kraan buiten, bad/ douchekraan die lekt, wc-kraan die loszit en niet goed loopt, roestige vaatwasserrekje, geen gezellige lampjes, verlichting.

shower vet poor power and lose holder. couch old and used. outside table old and unvarnished. no sun beds. other apartments did have them.
