Amigo Apartment

The apartment is just around 15 to 20 minutes walk to the Old town. There is a supermarket just oposite the building. We do not travel by train so it is not much relevant but Mostar train station is also just across the street. The host is very helpful, he waited to handover me the key. He explained everything with Google translate because he does not speak English. He gave us a discount for the small change. The apartment has everything you need.

Nothing.

The location was ideal for us as we planned to catch an early train to Sarajevo and it was opposite the station. It was about a 15 mins walk from there to the Old City. There was a supermarket down the road and an ATM which were useful. Although the Sparkasse ATM charged a huge 20KM (close to £10) commission to withdraw cash.

The drawers of one of the bedside tables were full of rubbish from a previous occupant. The road outside was quite noisy. We had to pay the landlord in cash and the flat was on the 4th Floor and without a lift and heavy bags it was a real cardio blast to get up there every time!

Квартира чудова: чиста, затишна, гарно мебльована, облаштована сучасною технікою, у кожній спальній кімнаті кондиціонер, білизна чиста, по всьому видно, що зроблено з душею. З балкону відкривається гарний вид на місто і на гору. Господар був дуже ввічливим і милим: дочекався нас, хоча ми і затримувались на кордоні. Місто Мостар - неперевершене! Ми опинились у ньому випадково, оскільки треба було заповнити ніч між нашим відпочинком у Чорногорії та Хорватії - і жодного разу не пошкодували! Наша сім'я приємно вражена його красою та самобутністю. Шкодуємо тільки, що провели тут тільки один вечір та ранок у Благаї. Тому в одну з наступних наших подорожей обов'язково зупинимося на кілька днів у Мостарі. Сподіваємось, апартаменти "Аміго" будуть на той час вільними для нас)

Високі сходи - ми звикли до них вдома, але людям з обмеженими можливостями слід це враховувати.

What a gem of an apartment! So big for a family of 4 travelling together. We appreciated the space and stayed for 4 nights. Would have stayed longer if they weren’t booked out. Best bits: Location - directly opposite train station but safe and with good views. No car needed to explore anywhere in Mostar town or old town. Apartment - good to have a huge sofa bed in lounge room! It’s huge!!! Lounge room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are all separate rooms with doors. This was great and rare on our travels around the balkans Bathroom- it has a bath! How awesome. And washing machine. Beds - Sofa bed huge, bed in Main room comfortable Wifi- Awesome Kitchen - had full-size fridge and items for cooking. A chopping board and knives would be awesome too, but we survived! Hospitality - Great communication with host. We did have to translate all messages into English but the host was so welcoming and all communication was prompt. He allowed really early check in, which was fabulous. Linen - Linen galore and rugs if needed to keep warm. Lots and lots of towels! This we loved. Aircon - 2 units in the apartment, great. Security and outdoor blinds to keep sun out. And small balcony with table and chairs to enjoy your coffee or work from home. Price - We have travelled for 4 months. This apartment was the best value for money, for size etc. Very clean too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT!!!!

There were 72 stairs to climb to get to apartment BUT THE OWNER CARRIED SOME OF OUR SUITCASES UP! How wonderful. And it wasn’t really an issue, just good to know for those that can’t do stairs.
