Apartment Mejdan

Really wonderful location a 10-minute walk from the train/bus station and right at the doorstep of the UNESCO-listed old town and bridge area. There is a lovely patio restaurant just next door and just behind the building is a staircase that leads down to a bend in the river with a calm(er) area where you can swim (be warned, it is quite chilly). There are good air conditioning units in both the bedroom and the living room which is appreciated in the hot Mostar summer. The apartment itself had plenty of space, with actual sleeping areas for up to 6 people. I arrived on the morning train from Sarajevo and the host allowed me to store my backpack in another apartment while mine was made ready for me at 12pm, which still felt quite early. I just booked the day before so I'm sure if conditions are right, they would let you in the apartment as soon as you arrived.

The host's mother met me at the restaurant and, despite not speaking English, was very helpful and welcoming. She did quote me a higher rate than I booked (paying in cash upon check-in does seem to be the norm in this part of the world) but once I showed her my booking confirmation she had no problem accepting that rate. It seems they have a standing rate so just be prepared to show your booking confirmation if you do get a deal on the Booking.com platform. That said, it was not a problem or a negative experience at all, just something to note.

We had a great stay in this accommodation. The location is perfect, right in the center and still surprisingly quiet within the night. There’s also a lovely small balcony where you can enjoy the sun. We were warmly welcomed by the host’s mother, which made us feel at home right away. The apartment itself was spacious enough for two people and everything was clean and well taken care of. The host was always helpful and easy to reach if we had any questions. Plus, there’s a really nice restaurant right next door, which was super convenient. Overall, a great place to stay. I would definitely recommend it. Hvala na svemu 😊

The location was excellent. The heating function of the air conditioner was a big plus, especially as we were visiting during colder weather, it made our stay very comfortable.
