Sunshine Guest House

It is a fairly new guesthouse occupying the higher floors of a building. The rooms are of reasonably good size and the bathroom is clean. As the room was quite cold, we asked and the front office provided us an electric heater. The dinner and breakfast were quite alright.

When we checked in, there was loud construction noise from the upper floor, which continued late into the evening despite assurances from the front desk. The staff also attempted to charge us for a second room that we had cancelled well before the cut-off time. The guesthouse has no dining room, so meals are served in the rooms. Although breakfast was included in the room rate, we were unexpectedly charged for coffee and a water bottle—items that were complimentary everywhere else we stayed in Meghalaya. We were told that only tea was included in the breakfast. At checkout, we suggested providing an electric kettle in the rooms, as is common elsewhere. We were simply told that kettles are available only if guests specifically request them.
