We were warmly welcomed by the hosts when we arrived and taken to the flat on the 1st floor. The apartment has been recently modernised and is well furnished and comfortable. It is very spacious with 2 double bedrooms, and as well as the bathroom, there is a separate toilet. The living room is a lovely size, with a huge sofa and a large smart tv. The apartment is located just inside one of Volterra’s gates and was easy to find. It is on the edge of town centre, only a couple of minutes walk to the main sites and lots of local restaurants/ bars. The apartment was well equiped with almost everything we needed. One recommendation for the future, would be to install a washing machine. From Volterra we did some great day trips to Siena, the seaside and San Gimignano.
For others this might not be a problem, but we found that at night we were often woken up by motorbikes and people talking very loudly in the small road outside.
