Brockway Springs Lodge Steps to Lake Access

The location was superb. It was very clean. The house was perfectly provisioned for the length of our stay with laundry and dishwasher detergent, with a fresh sponge and liquid dish detergent, and with a surface cleaner spray. We needed to resupply paper towels and toilet paper, but there was a good quantity on hand. The towels and bed linens were of good quality and there were extra blankets and pillows, though no pillow cases. It was more than adequately furnished with abundant dishware, glassware, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots, pans, bakeware, coasters, placemats. There were games and puzzles in abundance that covered all ages and many interests. The views from the master bedroom and sunken living room were spectacular and the balconies would be tremendous bonus rooms in warm weather. The gas fireplace in the living room was wonderful. The furniture and the beds were both attractive and comfortable.

I like to leave a rental property as clean or cleaner than I found it. While there were plenty of thoughtful items on hand, there was no vacuum cleaner, so I could not easily clean the carpets. Also, while there were several summer items available (e.g., beach umbrella), there were no winter specific items such as a shovel, sleds, or a snow saucer. Also, having had a few days of heavy snow, it would have been nice to have some sort of throw rug in the entryway so the tile would not get soaking wet.

The proximity to the lake.

The fireplace didn’t work, the televisions are dated had many remotes and were hard to work. The bedrooms were all dated and felt dirty ( there was old gum on the wall of the double twin room) with the exception of the primary suite which had a lovely view and bathroom.
