Bush by the Bay by Tiny Away

The tiny home was very well done - modern and practical. As well as being very clean with a very comfortable bed! Our dogs were also welcomed and enjoyed the space to roam and play fetch! They had tethers attached to the deck of the tiny home which was appreciated for our one particular serial wonderer! Our host, Jess, was fantastic and very responsive via text yet we were given complete privacy to enjoy our time “off grid”. The property was just beautiful, surrounded by trees with a visit from some local wildlife on our first evening. 🦘 The fire pit was a great extra! Fantastic location so close to Hervey Bay where we could discover such a beautiful region. 10/10 would recommend.

Possibly the opportunity for more storage within the tiny home itself? But that’s just being picky!

The location was very quiet and peaceful. We were really looked after during our stay while respecting our privacy.

The location was great, sitting outside amongst the trees enjoying a morning coffee or an afternoon pick me up was refreshing. The fire pit was a great extra. Our dog enjoy the open land, plenty of space to run and play.

The host seems more focused on being enticing to new guests rather than trying to get returning guests, such as offering early check ins, as early as 8am if the Cabin is empty, but doesn't offer late check outs. My partner and I were packing to leave after our 3 day stay and we got a message 20 minutes before 10am as reminder that check out is 10am, please vacate the cabin and turn all lights etc. off, we found that message very pushy and unnecessary, as if she wants us to actually leave before 10am. If you cant offer late check out and then we are entitled to stay there right up until 10am. The bed linen had dirt marks all over it and dead bugs in the bed the blankets and towels definitely need to be washed with a softener, it feels like you're drying your body with sandpaper, the floor was covered in a thick dirt or dust so we had to wear shoes throughout the cabin. There is no proper driveway leading to the cabin, not even a simple gravel driveway, you are just made to drive over all of the fallen sticks from the trees which isn't safe for most vehicles and tyres and really threw us off guard as we were at least expecting a small path not the fact that we should have a 4WD just to make it to the cabin. The cabin is a lot closer to the main house than we expected, which isn't always the nicest when you want privacy. The location of the cabin is directly under a tree so in the wind you can hear the branches scraping along the roof, and it is facing the direction of the sun when it rises, the blackout blinds aren't very efficient so if you're coming here for a holiday and expect to sleep in then I would just avoid it all together as you will be up with the sun.
