btwn HND airport and Shinagawa Station so nothing was around like restaurant or shops

Everything! This place is a little gem and Jane, the host, can't do enough for you. Highly recommended. We'll be returning before we fly back home.

Good Day Shinagawa isn't just a gem -- it's the diamond in the jewel box! #1 - Jane, the host, was simply born to do this. She's poured her creativity & expertise on what makes a comfortable stay (born from years of travel experience) into every detail of Good Day Shinagawa -- and that care is palpable the second you walk in. All the little things - instructions, hooks, drying racks, snacks, drinks, kitchenware -- it's all there, exactly WHERE you need it, presented with an extra dash of love. It's magical. #2 - The location is lovely. Quiet, very un-touristy (so refreshing after hanging around Shinjuku/Shibuya), well- connected to transport, and with lots of cute little restaurants just down the street. Highlight: On Good Day Shinagawa's ground level is an exquisite sushi restaurant. It's not just unmissable -- it's also not a coincidence! Jane's dream when she imagined building Good Day was to have a top-notch sushi spot on site. So it was probably fate when, while spending long hours attending her kiddo's baseball games, she met among the fellow parents a talented chef who'd spent 25 years in Tokyo's finest sushi restaurants. When it was time to break ground, Jane shared her dream with him, pitched him on opening his own spot in her building, and voila -- Sushi Suzufuki was born! The food is, of course, phenomenal, but that feeling of two people striking out on their own to combine their wisdom and love of craft is what makes the experience genuinely unforgettable. It is so special. #3 - How do I know all this? Because Jane is LEGENDARY: the friendliest, most helpful, and most generous host! From texting me directions from our subway stop before we arrived, to walking me to her favorite cafe, to rescuing me when my flight home got cancelled (she spoke to the airline in Japanese, arranged the extra night's stay, and yes, took me to Suzufuki for dinner!), Jane redefines "above & beyond".
