Awaawa Yurts - Rangi

We absolutely loved our stay in the yurts. The location was perfect—so close to all the activities we had booked over the three days, which made everything super convenient and stress-free. The views were stunning, especially waking up to such peaceful, natural surroundings. On top of that, the cleanliness was spot on, which made the whole experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. It was the perfect spot for our 3 days getaway, and we’d definitely stay again.

The only downside was having to clean kitchen items like plates and utensils in the bathroom, which wasn’t very convenient. Other than that, we loved everything about our stay.

We would have liked it to be serviced, change bed & towels, at least once on our 3 night stay.

The view is amazing! Rangi is definitely the best situated of the three yurts on the property. Junction Road also makes a good, central base for exploring the island assuming you have a rental car / scooter / e-bike / whatever. Such a peaceful, distinctive, memorable place - at a relatively reasonable price for Waiheke.

There were unfortunately a lot of cockroaches outside the yurt (and in the adjacent bathhouse) during the night. Of course this is the bush in northern NZ, so there will obviously be bugs outside. We could see evidence that the yurt itself had been sprayed so any bugs trying to sneak in wouldn't last very long indoors - but also evidence that a cockroach would survive longer in there than it should. We were thankful that all of our bags could zip tightly shut.

Rangi Yurt has the most beautiful view and is an incredibly peaceful place. The surroundings feel calm and restorative, and the yurt itself is cosy and welcoming. It is the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. I would happily stay here again.
