Urban 1BR Gem with Kitchen, Smart TV & Workspace

Everything was clean and well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed. The TV is a nice plus as well! The owner of the place replies fast and was always extremely pleasant and polite during our exchanges (I had a lot of questions and they always answered timely and nicely.) The price was very good as well! Would definitely recommend :)

There’s no available parking nearby and the street parking regulations are kinda confusing, so be sure to plan your overnight parking plan in advance.

The property was very well appointed and comfortable. The location is convenient near the Pimisi station and not far from Chinatown. The host is very helpful. We really enjoyed staying here.

There is no parking included in the property. Offsite parking is possible as extra.

The hosts were generally kind and responsive, though sometimes with a delay of an hour or so. The apartment is decorated fairly nicely and they thought of some small extras like providing snacks, laundry detergent, shower products and even toothbrushes! The kitchen had most things one would need. There was even a usb plug but it turns out that had been forgotten by a previous guest and wasn't left by the host.

First, I didn't like that just before arrival they required me to log into another website, provide personal info and pay a deposit. Then important info like door codes and check in/out procedures were provided there. That felt a little wrong - I booked thought booking.com so everything should be there. Another $100 security deposit last minute wasn't good. There were lots of little problems. The smoke detector in the stairwell kept beeping (low battery, probably). The bed is rather bowl-shaped leading to back pain. There were no scissors in the kitchen. We had no control over the temperature other than to contact the host who took like an hour to adjust it (throw blankets and a space heater would have been nice - the host thought there was a space heater but there wasn't). The worst thing was the front door was too small for the door frame by several centimetres - you can see around it! (see photo). Also several pieces of furniture were a little broken - drawers under the bed and a side table, for example. And it had been a long time since anyone deep cleaned - the drawers where I wanted to put my clothes were full of dust, for example. I would have also liked more dishes. There were 3 or 4 of everything (except only 1 soup spoon) - but that meant we kept handwashing bowls and mugs because it wasn't worth it to run a full sized dishwasher with just a few things in it. If you're going to have a large dishwasher, have enough dishes that it is worth using. I also would have appreciated a dish brush and sponge for handwashing dishes and a drying rack for them. The location is close to the transit (O Train) but at least a 10-15 minute walk from anything else - not even a convenience store nearby. Finally, I disliked having to take the garbage out as part of check-out procedures (don't we pay enough in cleaning fees etc.. for that?) and hated that there was no compost of recycling so it all goes to landfill.
