Region: Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Town: The attractive village of Haydon Bridge is situated between the market town of Hexham and Haltwhistle, close to the A69, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, and only a short drive away from the magnificent remains of the Roman Forts on Hadrians Wall, a World Heritage Site. There are some delightful walks in the area, but perhaps the loveliest are at Allen Banks - 194 acres of woodland and riverside paths just 3 miles from Haydon Bridge. The picturesque village of Haydon Bridge dates back to the 14th Century and is situated on both banks of the South Tyne river with an ancient pedestrian bridge over. Amenities in the village include a railway station, a variety of shops, pubs, a local tourist information centre, churches and riverside walks. Haydon Bridge is a great base for exploring Northumbria!
