Staff were helpful and did what they could in a difficult situation — Stephen and a colleague worked to get us into a room despite serious problems with the locks. Aside from the issues below, the apartment itself was in good condition.

On arrival at 23:00, the apartment door could not be opened as the security locks had been changed that day, and the door handle broke during attempts to fix it. We were moved to the adjoining unit, which also could not be opened — a staff member eventually gained entry using tools. We didn't get into a room until midnight, with further disruption from repair work and a security light until 01:00. As this was a one-night stay with a 07:20 airport shuttle booked through the property, we had at most six hours in the room, most of it disrupted. The shower screen was also coming away from the wall and the showerhead wouldn't stay in place, making the shower unusable for anyone of average height or taller. I raised this directly with the property and requested a partial refund, which was declined. Booking.com also contacted the property on my behalf, but they did not respond to Booking.com. I'd have judged this property on how it handled the problem rather than the problem itself, but when speaking to them they felt that there was no issue as they eventually got us into another room
