The house is gorgeous and was exactly what we needed for a countryside getaway. Located on a hill, and surrounded by lush vegetation, it felt like a piece of paradise for us.
The kitchen is well equipped (although missing kitchen towels and tissues - for me, those are a must in any accommodation) and I loved the grandeur of the open space, which allowed me to cook our meals and enjoy dinner with my family. We loved having a BBQ outside (it would have been great to have a lighter / matches and coal provided, so we didn't have to go to the shop first) and we used it every day.
The beds are comfortable and the linens were immaculate. The bedrooms have that coastal design look that matches the location perfectly. The house felt really cosy and chic. It was a bit pricey, but I would definitely book it again. It was a perfect fit for our family of four.
Finding a parking space can be difficult when all the neighbors claim that the road in front of their houses is "private property". The house is located on a very steep country road (about 45°) so I decided to park down the hill. It wasn't a big deal for me, but it could be tricky in peak season - we stayed here at the beginning of July.
Kitchen towels, tissues, more toilet paper, bin bags, olive oil, matches and coal for the BBQ, coffee for the coffee machine and bins in both toilets should be provided! It's not ideal for your guests to run to the shop as soon as they arrive to buy all these essentials! There were only two toilet rolls for four people for five days — it was almost enough, but we were struggling by the day before we left. I would have rated the stay an 8 because of all these small details, but I just loved the house, and these things can be easily fixed.
I'd recommend washing or replacing the curtains in the living room - they are badly stained, and spoil the overall look of the house. You could also either install mosquito nets in all windows, or simply remove them from the description of the house. Having a broken net in one of the bedrooms and another one on the staircase window doesn't really count.
The neighbors have chickens (plus a very punctual rooster that woke me up every morning around 6am) and a couple of pigs (cute, but smelly, and attract flies). Obviously you can't change that, but it definitely had an impact on my rating.
The iron is not great, but I managed to iron our clothes.
It would be great to provide you with guests with a couple of washing capsules. Luckily, I had bought some in Alghero (that accommodation had the same issue - missing washing liquid), otherwise having a washing machine would have been useless. For the price paid, guests would probably expect more attention to these details.
