Luxury 1-Bedroom Residence at Mercury Suites

The initial communication was great, however sadly upon check in our booking did not exist. This was a little concerning as we had just come off a long flight and were extremely tired with a family. The booking was also made months in advance, so this was very concerning. Loved having the washing machine and laundry soap, the full fridge, the supermarket across the road and bus station very close as well as the ability to cook.

Our experience was very disappointing, largely due to poor communication and organisation. On arrival, our booking for four people could not be found at reception. After an hour of waiting, the receptionist eventually confirmed it was legitimate, despite being unable to reach the owner. We had also tried calling and messaging the contact number without receiving a response. We were told housekeeping would set up the room for four later that afternoon, yet it was already prepared when we arrived. Better communication could have avoided the unnecessary delay. Finding the property entrance was also extremely difficult, particularly with two children, four suitcases and additional bags after a long-haul flight. Clearer instructions would make a significant difference. The receptionist was not particularly reassuring, and the bathroom could have been cleaner. Although the location was convenient for visiting Sliema, Mosta and Valletta, it did not offer the authentic Maltese experience we had hoped for, given the tourist-heavy surroundings. We also encountered confusion regarding pool access. We were questioned by security for having only two access tags for four people, including two children. The pools were not heated and were extremely cold. We spent several hours at the larger pool, ordering food and drinks, only to be told near the end of our visit that it was reserved for ME Hotel guests. This restriction should have been communicated clearly beforehand, as the current system is confusing. Finally, the room felt very cramped once the sofa bed was unfolded, leaving little space to move around. Overall, the stay was let down by poor communication, unclear procedures and a lack of attention to detail. With better organisation and clearer information, the experience could have been significantly improved.

Great property and area very clean and stylish. Surprisingly quiet considering the loud area.

The staff ( not the bookings fault) at the hotel weren’t too helpful. Also, needed 1 pool card per person and whilst we booked for and it accommodates 4, there were only 2 pool cards which made it difficult with staff.

Nice apartment, clean, great location, very close to the strip. 5 minute walk from the beach. Lots of restaurants nearby. Taxi ride away from Valletta.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING! This apartment is advertised for 4 people and including a pool. However, upon arrival you are only given 2 pool passes so only 2 out of the 4 guests are allowed to use the pool and we were told it was €25 per person per day for additional pool passes. In addition, when two of the guests tried to use the pool at midday they were told that the pool was full and wouldn’t be allowed up to the pool despite having passes. The reception staff are often absent from reception and the ringing the number for assistance required doesn’t work so when you go to get you pool passes you might not be able to use the pool for this reason as well. The closest beach is also surrounded by loud construction and the water isn’t very clean.
