The garden and the terrace were great, I miss it already

Now it might seem exaggerated to award a full 10 to a property but all depends on what you expect - and in our case, as experiences travellers just looking for peace, quiet and cleanliness, this place exceeded our expectations by far. For starters we were personally greeted by the host in a very welcoming and friendly way. Immediately we were invited to make use of their garden and veranda as much as we would like and were given a personal tour of the apartment which, by the way, was very clean and tidy. A nice large bathroom and good rain shower completed the large bedroom and living room with open kitchen. All can be used for free, no extra charge, and there was even a complementary bottle of wine as a welcoming gift already waiting in the fridge! Lots of parking space both right in front of the building as well as 50 meters further down the road. And it is... so... quiet and peaceful. Only your own snoring will disturb the silence at night and in the morning a choir of assorted birds is what wakes you up. Being at the end of a road keeps traffic away but in general this is a one way street village with about 60 inhabitants in total. Luxemburg, Trier and Bernkastel are only about 40 KM away each so you are exactly in the middle of everything. Embraced by low mountains and forests this location is just excellent, also for kids as their large garden features many children's toys and playthings as well as a small brook (river) at the bottom that one can make use of. Even a hammock is available for those afternoon naps. Down that same road two places to eat and drink, firstly the Landhaus (which we found rather disappointing) and the Krackesmuehle almost at the crossing which serves basic but good German food, not expensive and also there everybody including the staff was very welcoming and friendly. It also has that same little river running right through it, with a mini waterfall, and a selection of goats, if that is your thing. 10+ for everything.
