Good location, good price but the cleaning let it down

It wasn’t cleaned properly, there were black hairs on the floor and my white socks were filthy 10 minutes after first walking in

Once we got into the property everything was fine.

Convenient location.

The checking in procedure was painful due to the fact that the host did not send me the QR code or the Apt No. I had eSIM trouble and couldn’t contact her. The first front desk attendant said he could not call her. After waiting another 30 mins a 2nd attendant made contact and we were able to access the property. It was extremely frustrating.

Convenient, clean. Would stay here again

The apartment is a short distance from the waterfront, and we walked there and back. We took a taxi one night, which was about £2. The apartment is a good size with good facilities. Very clean. You can use the roof pool and eat meals up there.

The initial check-in process is time-consuming after a long journey. It did, however, mean I spent the rest of the stay feeling secure and safe.

- Safe and central location - Modern facilities and easy check in procedures - Fantastic views of Table Mountain and partial view of Lions Head - Walking distance to most places or short uber - Room is well furnished making it comfy and great for travellers

- If it is super windy, the main bedroom windows rattle which can make it hard to sleep

Aviva's Place is very clean and close to all places you will want to visit in Cape Town, it's walking distance to Waterfront and Long Street. They are some nice restaurants around as well why

Good option for a short stay in Capetown.

Location was great for visiting the V&A waterfront. View of Table mountain was fabulous. Apartment adequate and clean. Italian restaurant across the road was really good!

Reception concierge was very grumpy and extremely intimidating on our arrival tarnishing the experience from the start. The lead concierge was raising his voice at me to the point where I had to step away and let my husband finish the registration, even though it was all in my name. It was a very bizarre and horrible experience as I had done nothing to warrant his weird behaviour. I can only assume he had just woken up and wasn’t functioning fully yet as it was a late check in - no excuse though! There is some quirky electrics going on with the sensor lights in the bathrooms - they turn off when you’re showering and at night are extremely bright, causing my partner to wake. The A/C screen light was also super bright and we couldn’t work out how to turn it off - very annoying. The windows shake in the wind so we had to wear earplugs. Pool area a bit tired, we didn’t use it.

As the name suggests, the apartment is located in the (former) port area. The complex is very secure (24-hour reception and access only with a code). For me, the apartment was ideally situated between Downtown and the Waterfront – about half a kilometer from each. While the view was of Table Mountain, it ultimately overlooked bus parking lots. The staff is very customer-oriented and courteous. The complex is well-maintained and quiet.

I was less impressed with the self-check-in process, which required sending my passport via WhatsApp beforehand to generate a QR code. I couldn't quite understand why this couldn't be done on-site – after all, the reception is staffed 24 hours a day.

Excellent, spacious, clean, comfortable and well decorated apartment. Host was very responsive to questions and issues fixed quickly. Great value for money for apartment so close to V&A (7 minutes walk through pleasant park during day). Friendly and helpful reception staff. Good supermarket nearby.

Check in instructions didn't arrive due to fault with the system. No signage or number on the outside of the building. Apartment can be noisy from about 6am weekday mornings.

I had a pleasant stay at The Docklands in Waterkant. The area is quiet, safe, and conveniently located. The apartment was well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. All amenities were provided, making it feel like a home away from home. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-appointed place to stay in the area.

A mini couples retreat

EVERYTHING!!! Tell me why Aviva is not getting a raise because WOW!! She was such a darling. We had everything we needed in the apartment, this apartment is way better than booking a hotel. Docklands is close to V&A and the main road, infact it's central.

We loved it at Dockland!

Dockland is 10/10, loved it! Very calm and peaceful area. It was easy going for all our activities from there as they were very close by. Aviva was also an excellent host, easygoing and kind. She gave us a city guide that made navigating places easy, and she was always ready to help and make our stay worth It. Will absolutely come back 😍
